I will never forget my first time teaching. I was a 23-year-old graduate student at the University of Florida, and my first class had about 80 students in it. I was terrified!
Despite all my nerves, I somehow made it through the first day of class, and then a lot of days of class after that. Even though I was nervous when I first started teaching, I loved everything about it. More than anything, I’ve always loved the creativity, energy, and relationships involved with teaching, and my love of teaching - and the related opportunities to plan and deliver professional development programs - has never stopped growing. One of my favorite “secrets” about teaching is my belief that, if you’re doing it right, you’ll learn just as much from the people you’re teaching and training as you hope they’ll learn from you. Today, through my consulting practice, I work closely with organizations to plan and deliver professional development and training programs, both virtually and in person.
